The 2008 academic exchange conference of NSFC and Yalong River Hydropower Development Joint Research Fund. This conference held during January 7th to the 9th in Nanjing. Above one hundred representatives attended, including five academicians, chief engineer Liu Ning, Ministry of Water Resources, some evaluation experts in related areas, etc. During the conference, conference participants investigated the basic science and key technological issues of Yalong river in hydropower development broadly and deeply, made a Mid-term examination on six key projects, made an annual appraisal to thirteen key projects and eleven surface projects and also discussed the related matters like the coordination between the program management and the results integration, conversion, and application.
