On December 4^th, Peter Nielsen, world famous coastal sediment expert, professor of Queensland University, gave a splendid academic lecture in the State Key Laboratory of Hydrology-Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering, with mainly focusing on his invention of the setup measuring method of coast.

 

Doctor Peter Nielsen is the famous international coastal sediment expert, specializing in the fields of kinetic mechanics of coastal sediment and wave boundary layers. He puts forward unique theory especially in the field sediment movement. He has published many important academic papers, and the book, “Coastal bottom boundary layer and sediment transport” is the most significant one which is a must for coast sediment research.

Prof. Peter Nielsen was invited by Prof. Yan Yixin (vice president of Hohai University) to the State Key Laboratory to give lectures. And another report will be held on Dec 6^th.
