Dr. Wenhong Dai, Professor, Associate Director of Hydraulics and River Hydrodynamics, he is also a Registered Professional Engineer of Ontario, Canada (PEO). Professor Dai is specializing in Fluvial Hydraulics and River Engineering. His research interests include mechanics of turbulent river flows, sediment transport and river morphodynamics. His present research efforts include the development of physical, analytical and numerical models for the simulation and prediction of river morphological response to natural or man-induced changes in flow regime and/or sediment load. Of particular interest are the short-, medium- and long-term river bed and plan form adjustments caused by direct river interventions (such as construction/removal of dams, dykes, barrages and weirs, construction or raising of levees, river straightening, etc.). Dr. Dai is also involved with the modeling of local deposition and/or scour around hydraulic structures.
