Prof. Ma Hong-Qi (1942-), academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, born in Shanghai. He graduated from Tsinghua University in 1967. He worked as engineer-in-chief of the 14th Bureau of Chinese Ministry of Hydropower. He is the engineer-in-chief of Lancang River Hydropower Development Company of Yunnan Province of China. He led and participated in over 20 major hydropower projecs, including Lubuge Power, Manwan Power Station, Guangzhou Pumped Storage Power Station, Zhejiang Tianhuangping Pumped Storage Power Station, Dachaoshan, Xiaolangdi, the Yangtze River Three Gorges Project, etc. He studied and improved various types of underground engineering and dam construction technology. The rapid construction of high-pressure long inclined shaft, rock bolt crane girder and the construction of high-pressure concrete diversion without steel line technology reached world-advanced level. He created a variety of project management method to improve the pool of running compact model, enriched and developed the scientific construction management in the ways of a project. The project ,"Construction of the Guangzhou Pumped Storage Project Act of scientific management" ,was rewarded modernization of the national power industry first prize for outstanding achievements. He won the title of Elite Construction Enterprises operator, the national "May 1st" Labor Medal, and the state expert with outstanding contribution. There are over 10 scientific and technological achievements led by him won national, ministry and provincial scientific and technological progress awards. How owns 11 national patents, national Luban Award, Quality Awards and the Outstanding Achievement Award of scientific management.
