Prof. Qu Jiu-Hui (1957-), born in Jilin Province. He is a winner of the National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund. He graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Jilin University and received his Bachelor degree in 1982. In 1988 and 1992 he got his Mater of Engineering degree and Doctor of Engineering, respectively. In 1994, he finished his post-doctor research from Harbin Institute of Technology. He was a visiting scholar in Auburn University in the United States in 1996. Presently he is the vice standing director of the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Science (RCEES) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the vice director of the Academic Degrees Committee of RCEES, consultant of expert group of Beijing Municipality, the director of Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, the director of the Water Industry Association in China Civil Engineering Society，Editor-in-Chief of journal “Regulation technologies and equipments of environment pollution”, member of Consultant Committee of Engineering and Material Science Department in National Natural Science Foundation, head of overall expert group for the water pollution control and treatment project in the  “10th Five-Year Plan” of China, and professor of Tianjin University, Harbin Institute of Technology and Hohai University. Main research interests include the mechanism of water quality conversion, and basic principles and application techniques of water pollution control. He has published more than 130 papers in national and international journals, applied and received 29 Chinese patents and one international patent. He has made 2 national professional standards, edited one book, and won an international academic award. At present, he is leading several research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Key Scientific and Technological Program, National High-tech Development and Research Program, Knowledgement Innovation Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
