The deputy director of GCWC Professor Hao Zhenchun visited the Water Conservancy and Hydropower College of Xi'an University in 21 October , 2008, and invited to give a lecture about "Climate Change and Water Cycle research" . Professor Hao Zhenchun and Professor Wang Jianqun visited the upper reaches Hydrology and Water Resources Bureau of Yellow River Conservancy Commission. They inispected the Longyangxia Hydropower Station, Maqu hydrological and meteorological Station, Ruoergai wetlands, Zoige hydrological station, Shuangcheng hydrological station, etc.
