Dai Huichao

 
 
    Dr. Dai Huichao obtained his PhD degree from Hohai University. He is currently the professor and the assistant to president of Hohai University, and the Specially-Appointed Professor of "Chang Jiang Scholars Program" of Ministry of Education. He had worked in the construction site of the Three Gorges Project, the biggest water control project in the world. Solving a series of technical problems during the project construction phase, he was honored as one of the outstanding contributors to the Three Gorges Project. Prof. Dai’s research mainly revolves around hydraulic engineering, hydroinformatics, eco-environment and operation technique for reservoirs, and management of hydraulic engineering construction. He is the member of the council of China Society for Hydropower Engineering, and the members of editorial boards of some top journals. He has been the principle investigators of around 20 key national research projects, of which the results have been widely applied for a number of huge hydraulic projects. Prof. Dai is the award winners of around 10 state awards, including three State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards. He is also the recipient of the “National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”, the “Science and Technology Award for Chinese Youth” and the “Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award” from the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has published 3 academic books and more than 140 papers in peer-reviewed journals, of which over 70 are indexed by SCI/EI.
