Major research fields include: impacts of climate change and human activities on hydrological processes, stochastic hydrology, and application of remote sensing techniques in hydrology. Serve as the vice director of the State Key Laboratory of Hydrology – Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering, associate editor of International Journal of Ecological Economics and Statistics. Leading or participating over a dozen fundamental or applied fundamental research projects such as the normal projects and key projects funded by National Science Foundation of China. Made significant achievement in hydrological time series analysis, data-driven streamflow forecasting, and remote sensing of hydrological variables, etc. Won 2 first class awards of provincial or ministrial prize for progress in science and technology. Published one personal monograph, over 60 papers (including over 10 papers indexed by SCI and EI, respectively).
