Luo Yufeng

 
 

    Dr. LUO Yufeng is an associate professor in irrigation and drainage engineering. His main research areas include impacts of climate change on irrigation management, rice irrigation, control of agricultural non-point source pollution, groundwater modeling and conjunctive use of surface and groundwater. He is a member of International Association of Hydrological Sciences, the Modeling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering. He received his master and PhD degrees in irrigation technologies and management from Wuhan University in 2003 and 2006 respectively. He visited CSIRO Land and Water for four times as a visiting scientists or a post-doctoral research fellow. He convened a UNESCO-IHP sponsored international workshop held in Nanjing, China, in January 2010. Dr. Luo’s current research projects include ‘Regulation mechanism of phreatic evaporation for efficient utilization at the regional scale’ (NSFC 50809021) and ‘Ecological contributions of farmland under different irrigation and drainage conditions’ (subproject of NSFC Key project 50839002-4) etc. He has over 40 scientific publications including journal and conference papers and book chapters. His paper ‘Conjunctive water management options: examples from economic assessment of system-level water saving through Liuyuankou Irrigation System, China’ won the ICID/Wiley Blackwell Best IRD Paper. He also won 2008 Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Research Fellowship.
